Dated 17.11.2025 – Strongly condemning the comment made by the Higher Education Minister of Madhya Pradesh on Rammohan Roy, Prof. Tarun Kanti Naskar, General Secretary of AISEC has said, we strongly condemn the remark made by the BJP leader and Higher Education Minister of Madhya Pradesh Inder Singh Parmar attacking Raja Rammohan Roy, one of the pioneers of Indian Renaissance in an extremely vile language describing him as “a British agent, aiding religious conversions”. The role of Renaissance personalities like Rammohan Roy in pursuit of modern knowledge, scientific inquiry, literature, culture, and social reform laid the foundations of modern India. That the BJP denounces the role of the Renaissance stalwarts is quite evident in the NEP 2020 which promotes all sorts pseudo-science and distorted history in the name of Indian tradition and knowledge system. This comment once again proves the superstitious and feudal mindset of the RSS-BJP-Sangh Pariwar combine who actively opposed the freedom movement and who regarded the fascist Hitler’s ideals as their own.
We appeal to the education loving and democratic minded people of India to come forward and raise their voice of protest against the evil design of the ruling BJP.
